Iridology

Each part of the iris (coloured part of the eye) relates to part of the body. Early signs of chronic illness can be recognised so the condition can be treated before it develops into an unmanageable condition. Many times the conditions revealed in the iris today will not be apparent in the body for years to come but the potential for abnormal changes or weakened functioning can be detected.

Lynne Goldstein, at View to Health in Sydne,y employs Iridology to provide an insight into inherited strengths and weaknesses, thereby giving you the opportunity to make the necessary lifestyle choices to optimise your health prospects. An image of your eyes is transferred form a camera to a computer screen allowing you to see details of their unique markings, which can give information about your state of health, disease tendencies and ability to recuperate from illness.

The eye is dynamic and is a map of how we have interacted with the world.

From these features in your eye you will discover your own distinctive constitutional type and will be given information on which foods and treatments are best for you.

Lynne will also advise you on the areas of your health needing attention.

Your Eyes Reveal Your Health

Even though a prevailing condition may appear to be affecting a particular part of the body, toxic settlements or disturbed function of other organs may be responsible. So Iridology directs the practitioner’s treatment to the underlying problem and provides a more complete picture of the state of your health and gives clarification to the way  you should be treated. It gives valuable supporting information to other investigative methods as well as assessing various other systems of the body including:

  • Digestive efficiency and nutritional needs
  • Metabolic disturbances
  • The influence of one organ on another part of the body
  • Toxicity levels

Because the iris reflects the present state of the body, the progression of a disease can be monitored.

Ayurveda

Ayurveda is an ancient Indian system of treating disease by balancing the elements or doshas in the individual’s constitution. It enables your unique biotype to be established which determines how you respond to and recover from disease and what disease tendencies you have when these doshas are out of balance. Each biotype tends to manifest disease symptoms with characteristic properties in specific parts of the body and has an inherent weakness in these areas. By adjusting the diet accordingly and prescribing energetically balanced herbal medicines, recovery from chronic illness can be expediated. Ayurveda is most effective in treating chronic diseases which are not often responsive to Western medicine.

The elements comprising the three doshas are:

Earth, fire water, air and ether.

At View to Health, we combine diet, herbal medicine and lifestyle advice to suit the individual constitution.

Each dosha has a predominance of two of these five elements and delineates certain characteristics of the individual. The individual is treated according to their dosha, and a combination of diet, herbal treatment and lifestyle combine to bring these elements back into balance and enable that person’s health to be restored.
Each herb has a particular combination of these elements, referred to as “energetics”, and is selected to balance these elements in the body. Herbal treatment requires the additional support of the proper diet to be effective.

The elements in food are the six different tastes:
bitter, pungent (spicy), sour, sweet, salty and astringent.
The energetics of food, as is the case with herbs, is a means of balancing the biological humours (“doshas” in Ayurveda). This will alter according to the dosha imbalance, the seasonal variations and the stage of life, and so the diet will need to be adjusted accordingly. The energetics of food can be changed by cooking them, adding spices or by preparing them in oil.
