If you are looking for a gut health naturopath in Sydney, View to Health offers personalised support for people dealing with signs of poor gut function that may be affecting more than just digestion.
Poor gut health can show up in many ways, including bloating, food reactions, digestive discomfort, irregular bowel function, fatigue, brain fog, skin flare-ups, and ongoing inflammation. At View to Health, Lynne Goldstein provides tailored naturopathic care for gut health from our Balmain clinic, supporting clients across Sydney and the Inner West with an experienced, individual approach.
Lynne also specialises in inflammatory bowel conditions such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, thus relieving debilitating symptoms of these conditions.
As a naturopath and dietitian with more than 30 years of clinical experience, Lynne focuses on understanding the factors that may be affecting your gut health and creating a treatment plan that is relevant to your symptoms, history, and overall wellbeing.
When the gut is out of balance, the effects can be wide-ranging. Some people notice ongoing bloating, abdominal discomfort, excessive gas, or irregular bowel habits. Others find that certain foods no longer seem to agree with them, or that their digestion feels unpredictable and uncomfortable.
Gut imbalance may also show up beyond the digestive system. Fatigue, brain fog, skin issues, and a general sense that your body is not functioning as well as it should can all be signs that your gut health needs attention.
If these issues keep returning or never seem to fully resolve, it may be time to take a closer look at what is contributing to them.
At View to Health, assessment is tailored to the individual. Where appropriate, Lynne may recommend testing to help identify factors that could be affecting gut health and contributing to symptoms.
Depending on your presentation, this may include microbiome testing, food sensitivity profiles, intestinal permeability testing, candida testing, and other relevant pathology or functional testing. The type of testing recommended is based on your symptoms, health history, and the most likely drivers behind your concerns.
This approach enables us to develop a more targeted treatment plan.
Gut health treatment is designed to support balance, comfort, and better overall function. Depending on your needs, care may include herbal medicine, probiotics, nutritional supplements, practitioner-guided dietary changes, and support for the gut lining where irritation or imbalance may be present. Proper microbial balance is critical for good gut health.
The treatment aims to improve food tolerance, reduce bloating and discomfort, support healthier bowel regularity, and create a more balanced gut environment. For many people, better gut health can also support better energy, clearer thinking, and improved day-to-day wellbeing.
Treatment is always personalised. We look at the bigger picture and tailor support to what is most relevant for you.
When the gut microbiome is out of balance, it can affect digestion, food tolerance, immunity, and overall wellbeing. Lynne assesses the likely contributing factors and provides support aimed at restoring a healthier gut environment.
A compromised gut lining may contribute to digestive discomfort, food reactions, and inflammation. Where this is suspected, support may focus on identifying aggravating factors and helping strengthen and soothe the gut lining.
Food sensitivities can leave you feeling uncomfortable, restricted, and unsure what to eat. Lynne takes a practical approach to investigating likely triggers and guiding dietary changes that support both gut health and long-term sustainability.
There is an overgrowth of candida when there is an imbalance of microbial diversity in the gut. This overgrowth of candida, or thrush, can cause intestinal permeability, allowing the passage of products of digestion into the bloodstream. This can set up inflammatory reactions in the body, resulting in food sensitivities, skin infections, itchiness, fatigue and brain fog.
Inflammation can interfere with gut comfort and digestive balance. Lynne looks at the factors that may be driving irritation and provides tailored support to help calm the system and improve function over time.
Ulcerative colitis is a chronic form of inflammatory bowel disease that causes inflammation and ulcers in the lining of the colon.
It is characterised by intermittent flares, and is usually treated with anti-inflammatory drugs (steroids) and immune-suppressive drugs (sulfazalazine) which have side-effects.
Steroid treatment can lead to weight gain, acne, mood changes, diabetes, stomach ulcers, Cushing’s syndrome and delayed wound healing.
Sulfazalazine can cause stomach upset and pain, headache, decreased appetite, nausea, vomiting, itching, rash, joint pain and fever.
In ulcerative colitis, digestion and absorption are not usually affected but there is impairment of water absorption causing diarrhoea.
Unlike ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease affects the whole of the gastro-intestinal tract. An inflamed ileum reduces the absorption of vitamin B12 and bile salts (which emulsify fat).
Inflammation along the small intestine affects absorption of all nutrients. Inflammation of the colon impairs water absorption causing diarrhoea.
There is also cramping abdominal pain and fever during flares and often weight loss, tiredness and fatigue.
Those people with Crohn’s disease are more likely to develop fistulas.
At View to Health, you are supported by Lynne Goldstein, a naturopath and dietitian with more than 30 years of clinical experience. Her approach is personalised, practitioner-led, and shaped around the individual rather than a generic gut health program.

Our focus is on understanding what may be affecting your health and providing support that is tailored, practical, and relevant to you.
“I have had Crohn’s Disease for 3 years. I’ve tried lots of different things and have always tried to eat a healthy diet, but was still experiencing bad flare ups and fatigue. Lynne has certainly helped me get my life back on track and I can’t thank her enough. I highly recommend Lynne.”
“I had indigestion problems for many years and I did multiple tests to find out the core reason. I was on a variety of diets too, but it was all unsuccessful till my wife decided to get me an appointment with naturopath – Lynne. After 3 appointments, with her prescribed diet and herbal tonics I was fixed! I am very grateful for her service, just wish I found her much earlier! I would highly recommend her to anyone with digestion issues.”
